Artemas Wows NYC
BY MICHELLE SALGADO
Fresh off the high of being featured in President Obama’s summer playlist, Artemas hit the road on his first-ever US tour, and New York City was ready. The first date sold out almost immediately, prompting the addition of a second show—and both nights proved to be nothing short of electric. From the moment he stepped on stage, screams were deafening, people were dancing, and the audience became an extension of Artemas himself, singing along to every word like they were his backing band.
In one unforgettable moment, Artemas climbed down from the stage and made his way into the crowd, blurring the lines between performer and fans. With the house lights down, phones illuminated the scene, capturing the rising star in one of his brightest moments. The intimacy of the venue made every moment feel personal, and it was apparent this could be the last chance these fans have to see him in such close proximity. And, with a twenty-four song set list, Artemas shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
By the time the last song hit, and he sang the opening line of “I Like The Way You Kiss Me” (which he had to restart after thanking the audience profusely), the entire venue was a wave of chaotic movement. The balcony shook under the weight of dancing and singing, yet his voice soared above the chaos. Eagle-eyed fans may have even spotted singer-songwriter Nessa Barrett in the VIP balcony, adding an extra layer of excitement to the night. Dancing, cheering, and screaming filled the room until the very last note. If this is only the beginning of Artemas’s journey, then we’re surely in for something spectacular.
