International singer-songwriter Chris Hart performs first headline show at the iconic Eddie's Attic

BY KATIE HART

If you are part of the music and arts scene in Atlanta, Georgia, or London, UK, you may have encountered the indie folk-rock singer, Chris Hart. Chris has only been performing his own music since the beginning of the COVID pandemic but has found his niche in the community by playing with different bands, becoming a regular at his favorite music venues, and hosting open mics.

A year after leaving Atlanta and moving to London, Chris returned to the US for his first headlining show at the historic Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA. You may have heard of the venue - its stage has been graced by names like John Mayer, Sugarland, Shawn Mullins, The Civil Wars, and Justin Bieber - performing there is on many musicians' bucket lists.

Opening for Chris Hart was Parker Wierling, an indie pop-rock artist from Atlanta. He and his band turned up the heat and had the audience singing along to original songs, "Freakin Out" and his recently released single, "Gumball". Parker, ever the artist and performer, was jumping and dancing as he played acoustic guitar and sang his heart out.

When it was time for Chris to take the stage, the audience was buzzing with energy and excitement! It had been over a year since the Atlanta community had heard him perform live, and with a new set of songs released in January and February (with more in the works), everyone was ready to rock with Chris and his band. They didn't disappoint, launching the night off with the freshest single, "Selfish" and jamming through other fan favorites, including "Run" and "Anywhere." Chris made time for witty banter and crowd interaction throughout the set. There was even a heartfelt moment where Chris mentioned that his father flew in from Florida for the concert, and he was hearing Chris play for the first time. As an homage to his disco-loving father, he put his spin on the BeeGees classic, "Stayin' Alive", with the whole audience joining in to belt the lyrics.

Needless to say, Parker Wierling, Chris Hart, and their bands put on a memorable night and left it all on the stage. Keep an eye out for shows coming up for both artists in the US and UK, and for new music releases throughout the year!
