Lime Cordiale Brings Smiles to London

BY NADINE GOETZ

Australian band, Lime Cordiale, rocked the packed O2 Sheperd’s Bush Empire in West London on September 2nd, 2024. The two brothers - Louis and Oliver Leimbach - and their band were welcomed by an enthusiastic and energetic crowd for their nearly two-hour long set. The atmosphere in the room was electric and their set definitely had a feel-good vibe. The duo brought a lot of humor to the performance by adding comedic elements, for example a boxing match (referee included!), mid-set. They seemed to not take themselves or anything too seriously which translated into their very playful and entertaining stage presence. They were supported by another Australian indie rock band, Great Gable, who really warmed up the audience and managed to captivate the room with their groovy tunes and plenty of guitar riffs.

Lime Cordiale’s set had a very passionate, euphoric feel to it which was reflected in the audience, as people were dancing and singing all night long. They seemed to engage with the audience often during their performance, even shaking hands after their set and taking pictures with the crowd. While the Leimbach brothers share vocals on their songs, their use of trumpets, trombones and other instruments in their music was really fun to watch and brings a certain twist to a traditional concert experience. You could really feel the energy in the room throughout their whole set; even when they left the stage, the crowd was still jumping and clapping enthusiastically. It’s a play between fun catchy tunes, the brother’s entertaining and charismatic nature, lots of humor and a very passionate crowd that has made this night a very memorable one.
