Remi Wolf Brings “Big Ideas” to Brooklyn

BY JULIA DE VITA

September 30, 2024 marked night one of Remi Wolf’s three sold out shows at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. With more shows on the horizon, fans can certainly expect Remi’s “Big Ideas” tour to live up to the name.

You know how when you go to a concert and you see who is in the crowd, and it just makes sense, considering who they’re there to see? This could not be more true for Remi’s concert. In fact, her stylish audience was dressed just as colorfully and as funky as her music sounds– the ambiance in the room was just right.

Following her debut studio album, “Juno,” in October of 2021, Remi Wolf released her second album, “Big Ideas”, on July 12th, 2024– inspiring the name for her current tour. Wolf’s set included new songs off of the album such as “Toro,” encouraging the audience to dance with her (you can learn the choreography on her Instagram, of course), and put a new twist on some of her older songs - including a slowed, jazzy rendition of “Liz.”

Remi has a way of making her concerts feel like a casual, fun jam-session, where her fans are her friends. She improvises songs with her band based on a word chosen by an audience member (in the case of Monday night, she sang a hilariously lovely song about “Corn”), and tells stories of having fun in hotel rooms, while simultaneously longing for a life of love and stability on farm somewhere, far away. She asks if anyone out there can relate, and naturally, the audience woos in agreement and understanding.

If you get the chance to see Remi Wolf live, there is no doubt you’ll be moving your hips from left to right. And she’ll call you out if you don’t! But – that’s only because she has Big Ideas for this tour, and she knows that her fans can live up to those big expectations. ;)
