On April 24th, 2024, The 502s brought their beachy-folk sound from the shores of Florida to the sandy beach of Asbury Park, New Jersey. The band, hailing from Orlando, Florida played the iconic Jersey venue, The Stone Pony to a packed house of Hawaiian shirt and 5-panel hat adorned fans. This show was a part of their ‘Great American Road Trip Tour.’

The evening began with an uplifting set from opener Daniel Nunnelee. The Nashville native had a warm indie-folk sound that blended wonderfully with the silly, ‘giggly,’ and even heartfelt moments of the set to warm up the crowd for The 502s. In just 7 songs, Daniel had the crowd laughing, crying, and even took some by surprise as the opening chords of his final song, “Oak Trees”, played - alerting some fans that they did, in fact, know the artist from the song’s trending moments on TikTok. Nunnelee even paid homage to Jersey with a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Hungry Heart” and before too long, The 502s were on!

With a set list that was intentionally announced prior to the start of the tour, fans understood the assignment when the show kicked off with “If Good Times were Dollars.” Energy was high in The Stone Pony as the band’s upbeat discography got everyone dancing and singing along to each song; a concert with The 502s felt like the perfect way to kick off the summer, singing about good times, nice weather and road trips with friends. Their set started off strong with popular songs “Friday Night” and “Hey Julia” leading the way but the band’s infectious energy and ‘good vibes’ emanated through the room and all through the night, bringing fans along for the ride.

As the evening with The 502s came to a close, they opted to play the first song of their encore, “Road Trips” from the barricade. Joining the crowd, the band traversed through the photo pit connecting and smiling with fans before concluding the night with “Stories to Tell.” With an unmatched level of energy, positivity and joy oozing through their performance, one thing’s for sure - if good times were dollars, we’d ALL have a million bucks!
